Omega

Omega SA is one of the more popular luxury watch brands, but they are not necessarily one of the most expensive watch brands available when compared to many of the watchmakers mentioned here. They had their Seamaster watches featured in major films over the years, the Omega Seamaster Pro, which Buzz Aldrin wore as he took his first steps on the lunar surface. Having their watches flight-qualified by NASA for a space mission such as Apollo 11 was critical in raising the brand's recognition. They are owned by the Swatch Group, a watch conglomerate.

Omega has made numerous innovations in watchmaking by using a material that is impervious to electromagnetic interference, which is the number one enemy of mechanical watches when it comes to keeping accurate time. While some consider Omega to be a designer watch brand, with entry-level watches starting at a much lower price point than some of the previously mentioned top watchmaking brands, they do have watches that cost six figures, specifically the Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch Limited Edition with only 69 pieces worldwide; the number commemorating the year of the moon landing. Any watch that costs more than $100,000 is considered a luxury item by any standard.
